What does one say in their first ever blog post???? Something witty? Something thought provoking? One would assume that as I have created a blog, I have something important to say. Well I'm not entirely sure that I do, hence my choice of blog title. In the instant electronic world today there seems to be so much that people are saying. Is it all just noise?...like Blah! Blah! Blah!
I should perhaps thank my husband for inspiring the title, even though he has no clue of what he did. Perhaps it's a story that will amuse you? It seems my husband, in his mid 50s, is a non-voting American Idol fan. That means he likes to watch the show but would never pick up the phone to text or call to vote for his favorite performance. I, of course, watch the show with him. I had not realized just how much the music from the show had pervaded his non watching thoughts and actions. Several weeks ago, before the start of the new Idol season, he starts humming a song with a few words sung here and there. It took me a moment to distinguish the actual tune but it was none other than Bad Romance by Lady Gaga!
I was so surprised to hear that song coming from him. I do remember her performance on Idol last season and assume that is where he got hooked. I started laughing and reaching for my cell phone to text our son to share the experience. What makes this funny you may ask? My husband had no idea what song he was humming, he just sort of knew the tune. The words he was singing sounded remarkably like...blah, blah, blah! Now this kind of makes sense if you are at all familiar with the song and have not yet Googled the song lyrics.
Recently, after watching the Grammy music awards together I decided to download and burn a cd of some of this relatively new music for my husband. It was a Valentine's treat for my sweet! So if you happen to pull up at a stop light and the car next to you is thumping and jumping to Lady Gaga, Eminem or the like...glance over, it might be my husband! Rah, rah, ah, ah, ah! Blah! Blah! Blah!
